A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation of agricultural
Research and Development will be signed between Global Institute of Food
Security (GIFS), University of Saskatchewan, Canada and Bangladesh
Agricultural Research Council (BARC) on Feb. 10, 2020 in Dhaka. A day-
long “GIFS-BARC Technology Centre Workshop” will be held at BARC
auditorium at 9.30am on February 6, 2020 (Thursday). 

The workshop will include four thematic areas-
a) Genomics and Phenomics for Plant Breeding;
b) Soil Health and Quality;
c) Soil Water Regime and Adaptation and
d) Post-Harvest Grain Handling and Food Processing.

Future work-plan will be designed upon discussion on the aforesaid four
thematic areas. A 15-member delegation from GIFS, University of
Saskatchewan, Canada will participate in the workshop. It may also be
mentioned that a 20-member delegation headed by the Hon’ble Agriculture
Minister of Saskatchewan, Canada will be present at the MoU Signing Program
to be held on Feb 10, 2020 at Hotel Intercontinental, Dhaka.
